Learning from Buddha Seminary (LFBS)
The Learning from Buddha Seminary is an online Buddhist education program that operates under the umbrella of the Xuanfa Institute. LFBS was founded by Master Zhaxi Zhouma Rinpoche and operates out of the Holy Vajrasana Temple in Sanger, CA. It offers structured courses ranging from introductory Buddhist studies to more advanced seminary and practice programs. The curriculum includes study of Buddhist sutras, meditation, ethics, Dharma discourses, retreats, biographies of accomplished practitioners, and courses on Buddhist cultivation and practice. The goal is to help students deepen both their understanding and application of Buddha Dharma through a combination of study, reflection, and practice. Master Zhaxi Zhouma is able to provide teachings and texts from H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III that are not available anywhere else in English.
LFBS provides:
- A Buddhist Studies program for those interested in Buddhist philosophy and teachings.
- A more intensive Xiuxing Seminary program focused on cultivation and Dharma practice.
- Meditation retreats, online discussions, and Dharma study resources.
- Many courses based on the teachings and writings associated with H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III as well as traditional Buddhist texts.

About Zhaxi Zhouma Rinpoche
Zhaxi Zhouma Rinpoche is Heartwood Mandala’s lineage Master and was a close disciple of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III. She has devoted much of her work to propagating the teachings of H.H. in English.
Her work includes:
- Abbess of Holy Vajrasana Temple and Retreat Center
- Founding the Xuanfa Institute, a nonprofit Buddhist organization.
- Establishing the Learning from Buddha College and Seminary to provide accessible Buddhist education in English.
- Writing the book Thus Have I Seen: The Marvelous True Buddha Dharma and Its Power to Transform.
