Biography

Zhaxi Zhuoma (1940–), also known as Carol or Hojun Welker, is Abbot of the Holy Vajrasana Temple and Retreat Center, near Sanger, California. She was a close disciple of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III (1951-2022) for over twenty years and a Buddhist since 1983. She maintains a more-or-less weekly blog on the teachings and activities related to her Buddha Master entitled “Thus Have I Seen and Heard” at https://www.zhaxizhuoma.org that provides more examples of what is in this book. She also leads classes on the English translations (sometimes preliminary) of the writings and Dharma discourses of H.H. Dorje Chang Buddha III and various Buddhist Matriarchs and Patriarchs of different traditions at the Learning from Buddha College and Seminary, an on-line school which she founded.
